This year, Portland-area churches gave a gift to help improve nine DHS child welfare offices in Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties. These “DHS makeovers” focused specifically on the visitation rooms where children visit with their families on a weekly basis. What was a dismal and shabby space is now beautiful and hopeful, communicating their worth to our community.

Following the success of our gatherings with the principals and pastors of the Beaverton, Parkrose and North Clackamas districts, last month we held similar meetings with the Gladstone and Reynolds school districts.
There is an incredible sense of momentum for the work of SPN spreading throughout our community. This has become especially evident in a series of meetings that have brought together District Superintendents and their Principals with local area Pastors. The three most recent such gatherings all took place within in last month, first in Battleground, and then in the North Clackamas and Parkrose districts...
