Abolition Now Hosting Collaborative Connect PDX Conference

This summer Abolition Now revealed the following on its Facebook page: "In the recent 18 day nationwide sting which resulted in the arrest of almost 500 johns (seeking to purchase sex), 53 percent of the men were married and 47 percent were college graduates.

As a Church body, we need to unite and address this issue together as one."

To tackle the enormous issue head on, Abolition Now is hosting the second Connect PDX conference. Connect PDX is a one day conference of collaboration that helps churches connect with ministries serving the victims of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) and adult survivors of sexual exploitation.

The last time Abolition Now hosted Connect PDX, the resulting collaboration was outstanding. Leaders from a wide range of organizations and churches came together to share and discuss what working together for the good of the city could do. Chelan Rene' Russ of Stop Child Trafficking Now shared, "I no longer feel like a lone ranger. I feel hope for Portland...As long as we continue to Connect PDX, children and their families can have hope, too."

This year's Connect PDX will certainly deliver the results once again needed to combat human trafficking in our area. Follow this link to register now and find more information.
