Adopt a Room

Helping families at My Father's House

on Monday, August 12, 2013 Posted in Happenings, Opportunities, Homelessness

When families come to My Father’s House and enter their new apartment home, it can be a very emotional moment. The door opens, and they find themselves in a space specially prepared for them: brand new linens and kitchen supplies are right in place, the room is decorated with a personal touch that seems to fit them just right, and each child has a little something especially for them. This magical moment happens every day because of individuals, families or groups who adopt a room and commit to renewing it each time a new family moves in.

My Father's House in East Multnomah County has many great opportunities for volunteers to actively serve and form relationships through activities such as the adopt-a-room program, weekly family nights, and a variety of community outreach events.

Watch the video below to learn more about this ministry and the need for resources to help homeless families.
