A Rest for Law Enforcement

During the summer months, City Bible Church partnered with Responder Life Ministry to build a top of the line, exclusive lounge for all law enforcement officers. The purpose of the lounge is to allow those that serve us and our city have a place to rest during their duty in a safe, comfortable environment, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. The room is located on their Rocky Butte campus and is stocked with all types of drinks, snacks, food and coffee. The officers can enjoy some refreshments while conducting a meeting, filling out reports, working on the computer or even watching ESPN!

Over 170 officers showed up to the open house, and over 200 visit the rest stop every month. Pastor Marc Estes, Executive Pastor at City Bible Church says, "This effort has allowed us to show these wonderful men and women just how much we appreciate their dedication and sacrifice to keep us all safe. The relationships that have are being established are allowing us to find other ways in which we can serve our law enforcement needs by living like Jesus and sharing His love."

Surely with extra rest, resfreshment, and renewal, our law enforcement officers can effectively tackle street & gang violence to create a safer city.

There is a great need for more rest stops like these in other parts of the city. If you and your church are interested in further information regarding how you might start your own rest stop, please feel free to contact Pastor Marc Estes at This email address is being protected from spambots.
