Beaverton Foursquare conducted their 3rd annual outreach soccer camp last month. They worked with partners at Barnes and Meadow Park Elementary Schools to identify kids who are living below the poverty line. With the support of the staff at both schools, the Portland Timbers, SHINE, and Tektronics, the church was able to put on a world-class soccer clinic. Kids were taught soccer skills and were given equipment donated by the church families. Each day, the kids also heard from inspirational speakers. 176 kids attended, with immigrant communities represented from Bhutan, Nepal, Somalia, Romania, Turkey, Iraq, Mexico, and others (including other Spanish speaking countries).
