Church works to transform DHS

River West Church is seeking to transform a local DHS office into to a place where kids, parents, and social workers are loved and cared for. So far, the church has transformed ten visitation rooms, the lobby, and storage areas where children’s belongings are placed at the Branch 43 office. They have also collected more than 400 welcome boxes for kids to have and hold upon arrival at the office. The bright colors on the walls, comfy couches to sink into, and a handwritten note of encouragement welcome children as they step into an uncertain future. The church is also working to support the staff at the office by providing fresh flowers and baked goods at monthly meetings.
