Following the success of our gatherings with the principals and pastors of the Beaverton, Parkrose and North Clackamas districts, last month we held similar meetings with the Gladstone and Reynolds school districts.  The incredible energy of these meetings is hard to describe. Sitting across the table from one another, these professional educators and local church pastors are finding they have a lot to talk about.  Since they are serving many of the same families, the engaging conversations have focused on the advantages and goals of working together to meet needs in their community.  Many new relationships are being established, with the goal of creating some long term sustainable partnerships between  a local congregation and their adopted school.  Discussions are already being held for a number of similar gatherings in the Portland Public, Gresham-Barlow and other local school districts next fall.
