Life Journey Church Answers the Call
It was one of those things that everybody knew somebody ought to do but nobody was doing what anybody could have done.....or so it seemed. Then Life Journey Church stepped up to provide a solution.

That was the message we received from Kathy Harrison, the Volunteer Coordinator from the North Clackamas School District. She was anxious to share the story and send some pictures of the amazing job Life Journey Church did in cleaning up an abandoned neighborhood house that was attracting a lot of negative attention.

The abandoned house presented a terrible image for the community and the nearby school. In addition, it had become a popular gathering spot for those intent on bad behavior. As you might imagine, there was already a lengthy and complex story about attempts to get the property cleaned up through code enforcement. Unfortunately all previous efforts had been unsuccessful.

That's when Life Journey Church stepped up to the plate! On a recent Saturday morning they showed up with a crew to do what "anybody" could have done. Even the downpour that morning didn't dampen their spirits as they:

1) Removed trash

2) Painted over spray painted areas and added "No Trespass" signs

3) Removed blackberries

4) Installed boards over the broken out windows

5) Secured the house

There is still ALOT of work to be done but it's definitely a step in the right direction. The staff at the nearby school were thrilled with the improvements and with their ongoing partnership with Life Journey Church and other local churches in their area.

May we all be the "somebodies" who do what "anybody" can do! Thanks to Life Journey Church for setting a great example for EVERYBODY!
