Portland Screen Printing Business Provides Training for Homeless Youth

What we choose to wear on our T-shirts tells others not just who we are but what we value.

Now, there's a new venture in Portland's screen printing scene:  New Avenue INK, a nonprofit business arm of News Avenues for Youth.

When the New Avenues INK team prints scores of tees, your order is also supporting homeless and at-risk youth with on-the-job experience they can use once they exit the program.  According to business manager Skot Cranmore, customers can choose their own cotton blends and sizes, and print runs can go as low as a dozen.  But, it's not just about gettting custom-made shirts:  You're giving some young people a chance.
