North Clackamas Volunteer Opportunities
North Clackamas Schools is seeking volunteers to provide high school students with academic help and assistance with financial aid, college applications and job applications on Wednesdays from 4:00pm-6:00pm at the Wichita Center for Family and Community, located at 6031 SE King Road in Milwaukie, OR 97222. The Duncan Elementary Reading Squad is off to a great start but is still looking for volunteers. Volunteers spend time sharing a story or having one read to them, and using vocabulary/sight word flashcards that are appropriate to the students' grade level. The students enjoy the one-on-one time and the volunteers have the opportunity to encourage the student and celebrate their success.

Various times are available Monday through Thursday. Available times: 8:15am-9:00am (kindergarten), 10:30am-11:30am (grades 2 and 3),11:00am-Noon (grade 5), 12:30pm-1:15pm (grade 4) and 1:00pm-2:00pm (grade 1). The program is designed to allow for flexibility if the volunteer cannot make a weekly commitment.
