The Beaverton School District’s We Read Intergenerational tutor program pairs kids in grades 1-3 with trained tutors ages 50 and older. Through one-on-one weekly sessions at school, these tutors help kids enjoy and thrive in reading and writing.
Tutors volunteer for 45 minutes to one hour per week at one of several Beaverton elementary schools. No previous teaching experience is required. To become a tutor, attend the district’s training session on January 28 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at 16550 SW Merlo Road, Beaverton. Learn more and register for the training here.
