The Amazing Power of Mentoring
An Oklahoma City based church-school partnership mentoring program called "Whiz Kids" is taking root outside of their local area. Started just 22 years ago, the "Whiz Kids" program now is active in over 30+ schools in the Oklahoma City area. At least 75 churches participate in the program in Oklahoma City, working with over 900 elementary age school children.

Sorrow & Celebration
Our friends in the North Clackamas School District have experienced a wide gamut of emotions this fall. Joe Krumm, the longtime Executive Director of Community and Government Relations passed away unexpectedly and his death brought a shocking wave of sadness to everyone associated with the district. In contrast to the devastating loss, the North Clackamas School District also named Superintendent Matt Utterback the 2017 Oregon Superintendent of the Year. The announcement brought about much needed celebration throughout the district in the midst of mourning the loss of their dear friend and colleague.

Portland-Based Ministry Goes National
Nationwide, schools have exhausted their resources keeping up with needs of the children. In fact, the schools were never meant to provide for more than the educational needs of the kids. Nearly half of the schools in our country are in dire need of support. All people of faith have a primary call to respond to the needs of at-risk children and their families.

Love Portland Makes an Impact
Love Portland is a strategic one-day event that offered volunteers a chance to serve our city together and display the love of Christ. The mayor and city leadership have made it clear that one the biggest needs the city faces each year is cleaning up our underfunded schools, especially as our city's children prepare to walk through those front doors at the start of the school year.

Agape Blitz 2016

Agape Blitz 2016
In 2008, Agape Church of Christ began a day of service in the community entitled Agape Blitz. Their supporting church, Park Plaza Church of Christ in Tulsa, helped them launch this effort in 2009. In 2012, Agape Blitz developed into multiple weeks as groups from Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas joining the local congregation in this community service and outreach.
